After a leisurely ride to Walnut Creek, we will have time to browse and find a lunch suited to our personal taste at one of the many restaurants within two blocks of this beautiful state-or-the-art theater. At 2 p.m. the play starts. This off-Broadway musical-comedy- murder-mystery is a surprise hit that has delighted its audiences everywhere. With intriguing plot and an unexpected ending, this musical who-done-it brings mystery and mayhem to the stage, with many laughs as the detective becomes infatuated with show business.
“Curtains” is a play within a play. The curtain comes up at the Colonial theatre in Boston sometime in the 1950’s with the opening night of Robin Hood. The leading lady dies mysteriously and the cast is sequestered as the local police detective tries to solve the murder. It all gets funnier and funnier and more intriguing as you enjoy the choreography and the music.
